Rupee recoups 7 paise against dollar

Mumbai - On Monday, the rupee had lost 3 paise to close at 68.16 against the American currency

The rupee edged higher by 7 paise to 68.09 against the US dollar at the forex market in early trade on Tuesday on fresh selling of the American currency by exporters.
Besides, the dollar's weakness against some currencies overseas and early gains in the domestic equity market supported the rupee, dealers said.
On Monday, the rupee had lost 3 paise to close at 68.16 against the American currency on the back of sustained dollar demand from importers amidst fall in stocks.
Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex was trading higher by 260.79 points, or 1.01 per cent, at 26,025.93 in early trade on Tuesday.
