Delhi Bulls team mentor Anis Sajan has said that they have gleaned the lessons last year and the year before and hoped that his team can take a big leap in the third season of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Previously known as the Bengal Tigers, they had finished third last season, defeating the Maratha Arabians by six wickets.
Having pulled off a coup by signing England's World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan, Sajan hoped they will have finally have the rub of the green this time.
"I and we as a team, learnt a lot from last year and hopefully, we will go one step ahead. Fingers crossed, we hope we can be in the top two," Sajan exclusively told the Khaleej Times on Tuesday.
It is a fresh start with League now backed by the Abu Dhabi Government and will be played at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in the UAE capital. And Sajan is also delighted to have Stephen Fleming as coach for a second successive season.
"Going to Abu Dhabi, new challenge, bigger ground, big atmosphere, Abu Dhabi government taking it over. And we are all looking forward to it," he said.
"First and foremost, he (Fleming) brings a lot of experience, the calmness. He is always calm and he makes sure everybody around him is calm. Of course, having Stephen over the two seasons is the icing on the cake," Sajan added.
