Worker killed in row over loan of Dh500

The Ras Al Khaimah Police have arrested an Asian worker who allegedly murdered his fellow worker and attempted murdering other two after a dispute over Dh500.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Brigadier Abdullah Al Hadidi, Director of the Operations Room of the Ras Al Khaimah Police, said that the police received a call at 9am on Monday about fight between workers in a labour accommodation facility of a contracting company.

A police team rushed to the scene and found three workers bleeding. The rescue unit tokk the injured to the hospital where one among them succumbed to his injuries.

The witnesses told the police that the suspect asked one of the victims to pay back Dh500 that he gave him last year.

When the victim said he did not have the money at that time, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen several times.

The other two were also assaulted when they tried to intervene, the police were told.

Brigadier Al Hadidi said that it was unbelievable that someone would kill a person over such a small amount of money.
