A British manager, 41, said during the investigation that the barrels were stolen from a local hotel and belonged to a private trading company.

The manager quoted a worker as saying that he saw the accused, a 42-year-old Indian, transporting the empty barrels, along with two other men, from the hotel before loading them onto a truck. The manager summoned the accused and questioned him about the allegations and he admitted to stealing the barrels, which were estimated to be worth between $100 to $150.
