According to sources, the General Department of Anti-Narcotics at the Dubai Police had received a tip-off that a 39-year-old African woman had the contraband in her possession, which she was carrying from Faisalabad in Pakistan to Nairobi through the Dubai International Airport.

The Dubai Police officials kept surveillance on the woman, who looked confused, at the airport and once her passport verification was over, a police woman subjected her to thorough search. It was found that she had 300 grams of heroin taped onto her body.

During the police interrogation she admitted that the drug was given to her by a Nigerian living in a hotel in Islamabad and he asked her to carry the drug to somebody in Kenya. She said that he gave her $1000 for smuggling the drug.

The General Department of Anti-Narcotics of the Dubai Police has urged the public to call the police through toll-free number 800400400 or duty officer number 0505516218 or to e-mail at dpan@dubaipolice.go.ae if anybody has information about drug trafficking.
