Warehouse catches fire in Ajman
A fire that broke out in a garment warehouse in Ajman Industrial area on Saturday was controlled and put out by the Ajman Civil Defence. No casualty was reported and no one was injured.
Fire brigades battled the blaze and prevented it from spreading to the neighbouring warehouses.
Ajman Civil Defence officials said that fire brigades from the General Directorate of Civil Defence and from the industrial area rushed to the site and put out the blaze in a short time. However, the whole operation of preventing the fire from spreading further due to the flammable material (garments) stored in the warehouse was exhaustive and time consuming.
The officials said that the authorities concerned are still investigating the cause of the fire and the total loss caused. Primary investigations have revealed that losses may be caused by improper storage.
