Three African women stood trial in a Dubai court for robbing a man of Dh280,050 and his phone after luring him into their flat using fake social media account. They are also accused of threatening the man with knife.

According to court documents, the incident happened on November 14 last year.

The trio offered massage services through a popular social media app with photographs of some other beautiful women. The victim contacted them and agreed to meet them in their flat at night on November 14.

When he reached the flat, the women confined him and threatened him with a knife. They forced him to reveal all his banking details and made him transfer money from his bank account to other accounts using his online banking app.

One of the defendants also withdrew Dh30,000 from his account using the ATM card. They also took the money he had in his purse and stole his smart phone, which is worth around Dh3800.

He was kept captive in the flat till the next day, so that the defendants could make the money transfers. Once he was freed, he reported the matter to the police, who managed to identify and arrest the suspects.
