Two other Uzbek women visitors, aged 29 and 20, were accused of indulging in prostitution.

According to the prosecution records, O.D. and N.S. fooled two women with job offers to come here but later forced them to work in prostitution by locking them up in their apartment and threatening to hurt them.

One of the alleged victims, a 30-year-old Uzbek, told the prosecutor that she arrived in Dubai in December last year. She was working as a tailor in her home country before meeting O.D.’s female friend who helped her come here. She promised her a job on a monthly salary of $1,000.

She was received by O.D at the airport and taken to an apartment at Abu Hail in Muraqqabat where she was held up and denied permission to go out. Her passport was taken from her. She saw Russian and Uzbek women in the apartment.

In her statement, she said that she was forced into prostitution under threats. She was told that she had to pay back the cost of her visa and travel. O.D. threatened to kill her if she did not do as she was told. She worked as a prostitute for O.D. who collected the money.

In January, she could escape with another victim and she was injured while trying

to climb down from a room window in the early morning using a blanket.

The other woman complainant, a 24-year-old Uzbek, gave a similar statement during the investigation. She said they sought the help of their consulate. The police arrested O.D outside her apartment. A police lieutenant quoted O.D. as saying that the complainants were working as prostitutes willingly.
