A man and his two wives, who all live in the same villa, are standing trial at the Dubai Court of First Instance, on physical assault, verbal abuse and threat charges.
His two wives, both Iranians, are charged with assaulting each other. The two women, both housewives, aged 37 and 25, are also accused of hurling verbal abuse at each other.
The 25-year-old woman allegedly threatened the other housewife that she would set fire to her car if she did not take it out of its parking in the villa.
The husband, a 75-year-old Comoros Islands businessman, is accused of physically assaulting and insulting his 25-year-old wife.
The case dates back to May 11 and was registered at Al Qusais police station.
During the public prosecution investigation, the 37-year-old wife recounted that at 6.30pm on May 11 while she was at her section of the house, the other woman came and threatened her. "She threatened to burn my car if I did not take it out of where it was parked. My son was then present."
Her son, a nine-year-old student with a Comoros Islands passport, corroborated her statement, adding that he was at the house at that time and witnessed the other woman threatening to burn their car. "She said she would set our car ablaze if my mother did not take it out of the parking. She also warned her that she would start a fire in the house if she did not leave it."
A ruling will be issued on August 28.
