Two men landed in court after one of them fired a gun but missed and hit a third person in Ras Al Khaimah.
The Emirati neighbors had been fighting over the transfer of some firewood at a farm when the shot was fired, reported Al Bayan.
The first defendant admitted to the shooting, but claimed he had only intended to frighten his neighbor after he attacked him. The bullet bounced back off the frame of the vehicle and hit the third party.
The Criminal Court of Ras Al Khaimah headed by Judge Sameh Shaker levelled charges of unlicensed possession of a firearm, assault, attempted murder and vehicle theft, against the first defendant.
The second defendant denied all charges.
Defence lawyers requested more time to review and prepare their statements.
