Salih Al Matroushi, Director-General of the Ajman Civil Defence, said both the incidents occurred because residents didn’t pay heed to the warnings of the civil defence not to venture out to the sea during rough weathers.

He added that the weather was very rough on Thursday and Friday, and the civil defence rescue unit had installed warning signs against swimming in the sea. The beach rescue unit personnel were deployed along the beach to prevent people from swimming.

While patrolling the beach, they received information about two Arabs missing in the sea. The rescue team rushed to the beach and recovered the bodies of the young men, who were pronounced dead at the Shaikh Khalifa Hospital. The report about the second drowning incident was received within hours, in which a Pakistani man was died. Al Matroushi urged parents not to allow their children to venture out to the sea without their supervision. He also asked beachgoers to check the weather before they go swimming. People should comply with the warning signs installed by the authority to prevent drowning accidents, he added.
