Teen girl run over by car in Sharjah
A 16-year-old Syrian girl died after she was run over by a speeding car in Al Taawun area of Sharjah on Wednesday.
The deceased, identified as M.G., was crossing the road from a non-designated spot, as there is no zebra crossing on the stretch, and the speeding car coming from Dubai to Sharjah ran over her.
The police blocked traffic until the victim was taken to Al Qasimi Hospital where she was succumbed to her injuries. The police have detained the car driver and are investigating the case.
