Student found hanging in Khorfakkan

The Fujairah Police are awaiting the forensic report to determine the cause of death of a 22-year-old Asian woman, whose body was found in her parents’ house in Al Rifa neighborhood in Khorfakkan. Police found traces of a rope around her neck and they suspect that the deceased committed suicide.

The deceased, identified as B.B.D., was studying in a foreign college in Fujairah. The mother of the deceased, who works as nurse, was in her home country at the time of death.

Preliminary medical examination report showed that suffocation was the cause of death. Her father told the police that he was “shocked” when he returned home and saw his daughter hanging from the ceiling of her bedroom. After being notified about the incident, the police rushed to the spot and found the girl on the floor inside her bedroom.

She was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. The police are questioning her father to ascertain if the girl was under stress or suffering from depression. Her body has been transferred to the morgue for a postmortem examination.
