Police said a girl of Arab origin was crossing a road in Heera area, towards Sharjah beach, when a speeding vehicle crushed her to death on Wednesday. The car was driven by an Asian woman.
Captain Khaled Al Kay, Deputy Director of traffic department at the Sharjah Police, said: “Our ambulance team arrived on the scene but she had already lost her life. The woman driver was speeding and not paying attention to the road.” The woman is in custody and is being questioned at the Heera police station.
This is the second accident in two weeks after two Indian university students were killed at Buhairah Corniche by a car driven by an Arab woman.
