The incident allegedly happened earlier this month when the two friends got into a brawl during which the defendant stabbed the complainant in his head with a knife.

The victim was shifted to the hospital for medical treatment while the alleged assailant was arrested. During interrogation by the Public Prosecution, he claimed that he attacked his friend because he was blackmailing him but he did not give any details.

The case was referred to the RAK Criminal Court of First Instance bench presided by Judge Yusuf Rajab and comprising Judge Hamad Abdulkarim and Judge Arif Humaidan who convicted him.
