The incident happened on March 4 at a Jebel Ali school when the 22-year-old Bangladeshi defendant grabbed the British girl by her waist, kissed her and pointed at his lips to kiss him too.

He alleged in the investigation he kissed the girl only because she reminded him of his little sister.

The girl said that she was standing on a rock in the school playground when the defendant came and took her down without being asked to do so.

He then kissed her right cheek and as she was about to go away he pointed at his lips for her to return the kiss, but she ran away and told her mother, who was also at the school.

The girl’s mother, a 50-year-old housewife, said that she was at the swimming section when her daughter approached her, crying.

She told her that the defendant kissed her. When the mother confronted the cleaner with the allegation, he denied it.

A Nepalese teaching assistant, who translated for the defendant on that day, quoted him as denying having kissed her. “He said he only put his cheek on hers as she reminded him of his little sister,” the assistant testified.
