Russian drug lord arrested, extradited
ABU DHABI - One of the most wanted drug lords, a Russian, was arrested by the anti-narcotics authorities of the UAE Ministry of Interior (MoI) and extradited to Russian authorities, MoI said today.
The arrest of “A.G” was made in collaboration with the anti-narcotics authorities of the USA and Russia.
Russian authorities seized more than 295 kg of heroin while the boss of the arrested person managed to escape arrest using four fake passports, according to Colonel Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Ministry of Interior’s Anti-Narcotics Department.
The Russian drug lord entered the UAE under a false name, the official noted adding that within one day, the authorities discovered the fake identity he used to enter the country.
The gang leader smuggled large quantities of drugs into Russian cities.
