According to the prosecution records, the Iranian invited the Filipina over to his flat in the French cluster in International City where he said he would introduce her to his friends but as soon as he opened the door, he pulled her inside and raped her.

He faced the charge of rape in the Court of First Instance.

The complainant, a 42-year-old sales coordinator, said that she met the defendant through an online chat room, where he claimed he was an Emirati cop.

They met for the first time in September last year and he took her out for dinner. She later told him about her cousin who had a problem in obtaining an entry permit into the country. The
accused told her that he could help him as he worked for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Around 8pm on October 6, last year he invited her out claiming he would explain to her how to solve her cousin’s problem.

He picked her up from her place and took her to a desert area from where he suggested she should accompany him to meet his cousin and his girlfriend, who was also a Filipina.

He took her to the International City and after parking his car asked her to accompany him to his cousin’s flat.

However, the complainant said she did not want to go up to the flat, which later she found out was his own and not his cousin’s as he claimed.

“He said he ordered a dinner for all of us and since he insisted, I accepted his invitation. I was
surprised to see him opening the flat with his key”. The defendant did not answer her question about why he had a key of his cousin’s flat. He then pulled her inside and locked the door. The defendant then allegedly threw her on a
bed, took off her clothes and
raped her.

Once he was done, she got dressed and blamed him for what he did. He yelled at her and tried to slap her but later asked her to forgive him.

After he dropped her at her place, she lodged a complaint at the police station against him. She said during the investigation that she tried to go out of the defendant’s flat but he held her tightly to stop her from leaving.

A police lieutenant said that they tracked the accused through his car’s number plate and arrested him around noon the following day from his workplace.

The police confiscated the bedsheets from the defendant’s flat and the semen traces found on the complainant matched with the defendant’s.
