The Sharjah Police are investigating a case of a Gulf national who allegedly used a sword to threaten his uncle's family in Al Yash area in Sharjah. The suspect allegedly demanded huge amounts of cash.
However, the police intervened before he could cause injuries to the family members. The police received a call about the incident at 11pm recently and the closest patrol reached the spot within three minutes. They arrested the attacker red-handed, while he was pointing the sword at his uncle. He was transferred to the Wasit police station where he is currently being interrogated.
During the initial interrogation, the suspect said he "was possessed by the devil" that forced him to contemplate the attack and didn't mean to hurt his uncle and family. The man has a previous criminal record of possessing and using drugs, according to the police.
