As many as 550,607 pieces of counterfeit goods, worth over Dh50 million, were seized by the Ajman Department of Economic Development (ADED), local media reported on Wednesday.
The seized products included fake trademarks of more than 53 reputable international brands.
Majed Al Suwaidi, director of the department of control and consumer protection of ADED, said they coordinate with different public and private entities to prevent illegal trade in Ajman.
He added that ADED is committed to carry out inspection campaigns to control the market and prevent circulation of counterfeit goods.


The department will punish violators and not only seize the fake products but also impose fine on them, Al Suwaidi pointed out
