The 27-year-old Dubai resident allegedly planned the murder many days in advance and in May he went to the hotel apartment where the victim worked in Al Mankhool and stabbed him at the parking lot.

He claimed during the investigation that the victim was harassing and defaming his sister through Facebook.

He claimed that the victim used to work with his sister back in India and was terminated after he, the defendant, filed a complaint, accusing him of harassing his sister via calls, SMS and Internet. He was charged with premeditated murder in the Court of First Instance.

The forensic expert said that the victim received 28 stab wounds which reflected the defendant’s grudge and insistence on killing him.

A Filipino cleaning supervisor said that he saw the defendant and the victim talking to each other in the underground parking lot around 2pm that day.

About five minutes later, he heard a loud screaming and saw the defendant walking up calmly towards the ground parking. He saw the victim lying on his back covered with blood.

He also saw blood on the defendant’s hand. CCTV footage showed the accused stabbing the victim inadvertently in his abdomen after which the latter collapsed. The accused then stabbed him repeatedly in his chest, neck and front. He fled the place in a cab. The victim was seen trying to stand up and he walked a few steps before collapsing. He died shortly after.

A police lieutenant said that they circulated the defendant’s photo at all the hospitals and exits of the country.

He was arrested one day later while he was trying to flee through the Dubai International Airport in the early morning hours. During the interrogations, the defendant alleged that the victim had been harassing his sister through the social network site, Facebook.

About one month before the incident the victim moved to Dubai and started working in a hotel in Rafaa. The victim allegedly kept harassing and calling the defendant’s sister. He allegedly posted defamatory matters about her on Facebook.

The accused called and asked him to stop what he was doing towards his sister. They agreed to meet. But the defendant could not wait and went sooner to the victim’s workplace taking a kitchen knife with him.

There, he asked him again to stop harassing and defaming his sister or he would report him to the police. When the victim allegedly defied him and threatened to kill his sister, the accused lost his cool and stabbed him twice in his abdomen.

He continued stabbing him after he collapsed. The investigation showed that the sister did not have anything to do with the killing.
