A doctor suffered shoulder dislocation after a manager intentionally ran over him following a fight over parking, the Court of First Instance has heard.

In the incident that took place on September 7 last year in Al Muraqqabat, the Syrian manager allegedly caused the doctor a shoulder dislocation, which is considered a permanent injury.

The doctor, 46, said he did not know the defendant prior to the case. He had a verbal brawl with the accused who parked his car in a way that blocked the traffic in front of the villa compound.

"I could not exit the parking lot. After some time, the defendant came yelling at me in Arabic, which I don't understand. He put his hand on my shoulder as I was behind the wheel. When I stepped off he grabbed my right hand and twisted it. I pushed him to stop him from assaulting me," the doctor said.

"In the meantime, the security guard stepped in to keep us away from each other. As the police were called, the defendant rode in his car and drove even though I was in front of his car telling him to wait for the police. He drove speedily putting my life and others' safety at risk."

The victim added he was left with a dislocation in his right shoulder.

The compound's Indian security guard, 38, gave a similar statement during investigation.

The forensic report, dated January 16, showed the victim was left with a permanent shoulder injury. He has been suffering from shoulder dislocation by 25 per cent since the incident, according to the doctor who treated him.

The next hearing is scheduled for April 20.
