Man knifed to death; suspect arrested

The Dubai Police on Thursday arrested a 30-year-old Indian for allegedly killing a compatriot at a hotel apartment in Al Rafaa on Wednesday. According to the police, the man confessed he committed the deed after he got into a fight with his compatriot for allegedly posting his sister’s pictures on the Internet.

During interrogation, police said the suspect told them the victim was in a relationship with his sister in India. The brother wanted to put an end to the relationship after he found pictures on the Internet with comments posted by the deceased. He even lodged a complaint against the victim in India, the suspect told police.

The man had been in the UAE for two years and confronted the victim at the hotel apartment after he learnt that he had come here.

According to the police, they went to the parking lot and argued, and the victim threatened him with a knife, injuring him. In the fight that ensued, the alleged killer, grabbed the knife and plunged it into his victim’s body several times causing his death.

A supervisor of the apartment informed the police that an employee was stabbed to death in the parking area. The police found the victim lying in a pool of blood.

The suspect was seen leaving in a car and there were blood stains on his clothes. Police gathered information from the hotel apartment staff. And the cameras gave them clues to his identity. Information about the suspect were sent to all pharmacies, hospitals, airports and border crossings in the UAE entries. Eight hours later, an immigration official saw the suspect with an injured arm. The man called the police, who rushed to spot and arrested him.
