Maid in UAE jailed for posting sponsor's kin photos on Facebook

Ajman - The domestic helper posted the pictures of the family members of her employer without their permission on Facebook

A 29-year-old Asian maid was sentenced to six-month imprisonment followed by deportation for invading the privacy of her Emirati employer's family.
The domestic helper posted the pictures of the family members of her employer without their permission on Facebook. She posted the picture of her employer's mother and children on her Facebook page, to which she received sarcastic comments about the family members. She also wore the clothes of the wife of the employer without permission and photographed herself and posted it on Facebook.
According to the police records, the employer lodged a complaint with the police that the maid had violated the privacy of his children and mother by photographing them using her mobile phone. He said she posted their photos on Facebook without their permission.
The defendant admitted to photographing the children and the mother of her sponsor. She also said she washed his wife's clothes while the latter was travelling abroad and wore some of them to photograph herself.
