The court found the defendant guilty of driving his car under the influence of alcohol which made him inattentive and lose control over the wheel. He was involved in a traffic accident at the end of February when he ran into a parked car in Al Quoz.

Both cars were damaged and the accused was arrested and referred to the traffic prosecution.

The traffic prosecution referred the accused to the traffic court after concluding the investigation and reviewing the technical reports.

It recommended that he be jailed, fined and have his driving licence suspended on the charges of drinking alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol and damaging others’ property as per the Federal Traffic Law and the Penal Code.

The accused pleaded guilty.

The driving license of an accused involved in a traffic accident shall be suspended after he serves his jail term as per article 304 of the Federal Law of Criminal Procedures of 1992.
