A member of the Iraqi parliament has been detained in Dubai pending an investigation over a bounced cheque complaint, the Dubai's Attorney-General revealed.
Eissam Issa Al Humaidan, Dubai's Attorney-General, said that a criminal complaint was filed against Iraqi deputy Mohammed Al Taii over a bad cheque worth about Dh7 million.
The public prosecution quizzed him in the presence of his lawyer and he was placed in provisional detention pending further investigation. mary@khaleejtimes.com
