Indian woman run over, killed in Sharjah

Sharjah - A 38-year-old Indian woman died on the spot after she was run over by a speeding car on Al Khan Road in Sharjah on Monday evening.

The police said the woman was crossing the road from a non-designated area and was run over by the car.

By the time the police and ambulance teams reached the scene, the woman had died.

The body was shifted to Al Kuwaiti Hospital and patrols cleared the blocked road.

As many as eight people have lost their lives in run-over accidents so far this year despite the intensified awareness campaigns, the police added.
