Family sources said nine-year-old Indian boy Bonie Joseph Jnr.died before he was transferred to a hospital.
His father had dropped him at New Gold Souq building in Bur Dubai for the kids’ party to celebrate his classmate’s birthday. “Within 45 minutes or so he got a call asking to reach the building soon because the kid had fallen in the swimming pool,” said his father’s friend.
“He immediately called me and asked me also to reach there. Since I was somewhere nearby, I reached some five minutes before he came in,” the friend said.
“What I saw was paramedics trying to give first aid to the boy. Soon he was rushed to the hospital. But he had passed away before reaching there.”
