xThe first group, most of whom are of Asian origin, was caught in the city of Al Ain, while the second group was arrested in Ajman last week.
The police had received tip-off from informants about a group of illegal immigrants, who were roaming around in the Souq area of Al Ain city.
A police team immediately moved to the location and arrested 41 of them.
Investigations showed that they were helped by an agent who promised them work and accommodation.
Further search helped the police to nab the agent along with nine others.
The second group was arrested from a building under construction in Ajman.
A few of the 37 people arrested carried work permits sponsored by others, but not the construction company.
They have been referred to the authorities for legal proceedings. The others will be deported after biometric fingerprinting to prevent them from entering the country again. —
