Furniture factory warehouse gutted

Fire gutted a warehouse of furniture manufacturer Blue Castle Factory in Sharjah’s industrial area No 3 on Saturday morning.

A Civil Defence official said they were notified about the fire at around 10.30am and a huge amount of smoke was seen billowing into the sky.

“The warehouse was full of furniture manufacturing products, including wood and plastic, which led the fire to spread rapidly and engulf the contents of the warehouse. It took less than an hour for the fire fighters to control the blaze and the police patrols cordoned the area to ensure the fire would not spread to neighbouring warehouses,” the official said. The cooling process continued for a few hours after the fire was controlled and the warehouse site was handed over to the forensic laboratory of Sharjah Police to find out the cause of the incident, he said.
