As reported by Khaleej Times on Thursday, the victim’s body was found lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds in the abdomen. The CID team managed to identify and track down the suspect within hours and got the Oman Police to arrest and hand him over, the police said.

Workers of the construction company contracted to build the villa told the police that the victim joined the company recently. From the evidence and after collecting information from the workers, the police suspected someone who had gone to Al Ain.

The police contacted their counterparts in Al Ain who found out that the suspect had infiltrated into Al Buraimi area of Oman.

The Al Ain Police contacted the Oman Police who arrested him and handed him to the Sharjah Police.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he stabbed the victim several times because the victim refused to pay back money loaned from him.

The case has been referred to the public prosecution.

Brigadier Mohammed Eid Al Mazloum, Director-General of the police operations room, said both the victim and the suspect were both staying in the country illegally and had absconded from their sponsors.

He warned companies against hiring people who are not under their sponsorship. He also warned them against accommodating workers at the construction sites.
