The Sharjah Police have arrested a 32-year-old GCC national after his father called the police, reporting that his son had threatened to kill their housemaid over phone, a court was told. The accused is also charged with damaging public property, after he crashed his car into a police patrol vehicle while trying to evade arrest.
The suspect confessed to the police that he had threatened to kill the maid as she had beaten up his four-year-old daughter. The police have referred the case to the public prosecution.
According to the public prosecution records, the accused had called the maid, who was staying with his parents and their grandchild and threatened to kill her. As she was terrified, she informed his father about the threat call. The father immediately called the police and a patrol team was sent to detain the suspect.
The accused said he was waiting inside his father's house with a knife for the maid to return home. He saw the police vehicle and decided to While he was waiting outside, his father 's house he saw his father's car followed by a police patrol and he decided to drive away. On his way, he crashed his car into the police car, causing damage to the vehicle. However, the police managed to arrest him and recover the knife from him.
