Aid groups warn any invasion would add to already-catastrophic conditions for Gaza's 2.4 million people
The case dates back to 2009 when the Iranian plaintiff, S.G., claimed he had invested in the company and that the firm and all its assets belonged to him. He had asked the court to liquidate the company’s reserves and inventory of its property on the grounds that he was the owner of the company.
S.G. alleged that the local real estate company was just a sponsor and not the owner or an investor. On February 26, 2009, the court appointed experts who said the plaintiff was only a director of the company, and that he was not an owner or investor.
Sameer Jaafar, lawyer of the real estate firm, argued that S.G. had not bought nine plots of land as he had claimed earlier, nor had he infused funds for the growth of the company. He said the plots in question were purchased with the company’s money and expert reports also confirmed the purchase. Jaafer said S.G did not provide evidence to prove the firm was only a sponsor and that he owned the company. Hence, the lawsuit was rejected.
