Two men stood trial at the Fujairah Criminal Court for allegedly killing their friend after a heated argument over money.
Police investigations revealed that the duo could have tied the man's hands and feet, strangled him and buried the body in a sheep farm in Fujairah's Sakamkam area, where one of the defendants worked.
They also reportedly stole the victim's money. Both of them denied the charges in court.
Prosecution witnesses said the first defendant used to live with the victim at the same place where the financial dispute started.
The first accused, who moved from Dubai to Ajman four months ago, allegedly called the victim to resolve the issue but when they finally met, they still failed to come to an agreement.
He then drove the victim to the farm where the second defendant was working, hoping that the latter could force the man to settle the dispute.
After failing to solve their problem, the two men reportedly resorted to assaulting the victim and eventually killing him, records showed.
The duo allegedly placed a layer of cement on top of the spot where they buried the body to prevent the foul odour from reeking out.
