According to the prosecution records, the two Pakistani defendants, both vendors and aged 29 and 28, stood in the way of the two Filipinas, fondled and assaulted them on a street in Al Raffa in February.

One of the women, a 28-year-old customer service employee, said during investigation that she had dinner with her friend and they were walking home in the night. She saw two defendants walking in their direction and looking drunk.

She told her friend to be careful, but she was surprised when one of them got very close and fondled her. Her friend screamed when the other man did the same to her. She pushed the man away and as she yelled at them trying to get help from passers-by, the other man punched her on her face.

The same man pulled her friend’s hair to stop her from screaming.

She tried to grab the other man to stop him from assaulting her friend who had collapsed, but her molester held her back. A crowd gathered around them and the two men ran away. She called the police and one of the defendants was arrested from nearby.

The other complainant, a 30-year-old sales coordinator, told the same story of how the two defendants approached them and addressed them in their language. She said she collapsed after being molested and assaulted. A Pakistani man who happened to be passing by kept the men away from the complainants until the police arrived. The defendants admitted that they had intercepted and assaulted the two women.
