Dubai Police seizes marijuana plants, UAE national held
Dubai - Officers also found 38 marijuana plants in various stages of growth as well as some dried marijuana.
According to police officials, officers seized 38 marijuana plants in the raid on a villa in another emirate. The plants were in various stages of growth, and some were in the final drying stages.

Police added that the grow house was highly sophisticated and was equipped with ventilation and irrigation systems, as well as humidity-controlling devices and lighting and drying systems.
The suspect -- who police say holds several university degrees and has a good job -- claimed that the plants were grown for his own personal use. Police, however, believe that the large quantity of marijuana indicates that it was likely being grown to be sold.
