UAE resident shares why she chose the 2020 Nissan Altima to be her road companion
Dubai - A supermarket delivery man has been charged in the Court of First Instance with molesting a 13-year-old boy in the lift of a building. The 25-year-old Indian defendant was alone with the Egyptian boy in the lift when he allegedly groped and touched the boy inappropriately.
According to prosecution records, the delivery man also allegedly asked the boy to lower his pants. This was reportedly not the first time the defendant molested the boy.
The incident was reported on May 22 in a building in Silicon Oasis. The delivery man was delivering groceries when he allegedly molested the boy.
The boy’s father, a 40-year-old engineer, said in the investigation that around 7.30pm he asked his son to go to a nearby supermarket to buy something.
“He came back with a tense look on his face. He told me that the delivery man groped him in the lift.” The father went down to the lobby and waited for the defendant.
“I questioned him about my son’s claims as soon as he came out of the lift.”
The delivery man then reportedly sat on the floor and kept repeating he made a mistake. The father then called the police.
“After giving a statement to the police, my son told me that the accused touched him in the same way about a month before this incident. He did not tell me because he felt scared and did not know what to do.”
The defendant reportedly admitted in the investigation to having molested the boy. A verdict is expected on August 27. -mary@khaleejtimes.com
