The Court of First Instance suspended the execution of the Filipina’s jail sentence for three years.

She was accused of workplace theft. A police officer said that a theft incident in a clinic in Al Muraqqabat area was reported on June 5.

The incident happened in a dentist surgery clinic in Port Saeed. The apparatus disappeared around 6.30pm.

The accused also went missing afterwards, the clinic worker who reported the incident told the police officers.

“Then it happened that the accused walked in to the clinic at that time and she denied at first having stolen the apparatus.”

The officer took the defendant aside and asked her again. “She admitted she had put it in a plastic bag and took it home with her.”

When she later learnt that the police were in the clinic, she came back. “She claimed she had left the apparatus in the lift but it was not there”.

The police searched her house and her car and did not find it there either.

She was taken into police custody. She admitted during the police and Public Prosecution interrogations that she stole the machine.
