The Jordanian man, aged 36, allegedly managed to fool the Emirati schoolgirl into sending him her private and indecent photos and then used the photos as a blackmail tool to force her into having sex with him.
He faced charges of sexual assault, issuing threats and trespassing on others’ property in the Court of First Instance.
He admitted during interrogation that he had sex with the teen but alleged it was with her consent. He had known the girl even before she was 14.
According to the prosecution records, he went to the girl’s house at a very late hour in November last year promising her that he would erase her photos in front of her. But he did not and instead he had sex with her in her room after she let him in through the window.
The incident, as narrated by the teen, happened more than a year before the complaint was filed in November last year.
The defendant met her through a chat room on the Internet where he posed as one of her girl schoolmates. He duped her into sending him her private photos and then threatened to circulate them if she did not have sex with him.
When she deleted his ID from her chat contacts, he sent her an email full of threats. He managed to get her house’s number and address.
On the night of the incident, he came to delete her photos he had on his laptop in front of her but he had sex with her and left without keeping his promise. She woke up early in the morning and by mistake drank a nail polish removal liquid instead of water from a bottle.
She was rushed to a hospital. She told her father, who saw her room window open, that an unknown man came in and assaulted her at night. The forensic medicine report showed that she was sexually assaulted at the time coinciding with the complaint. Photographs of several girls in indecent postures were retrieved from the defendant’s laptop. The girls aged between 14 to 23 years, which showed that he had used the same manipulative way to get their photographs.
