Lt Col Abdullah Saif Al Matrooshi, Director of the Investigation Department, said the police received a tipoff about the man who operated from his house in Ajman. “After confirming the information, we prepared a plan and deployed a CID officer as a decoy client with family problems. The Asian demanded money for solving the problems of the decoy,” he said.

The man was caught red-handed performing magical acts. “We also seized the tools he used for black magic, including paper rolls, plastic bottles and incenses. Paper sheets with the names of a large number of his victims were also seized,” Lt Col Matrooshi said. The man has been referred to the prosecution.

Col Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of Ajman Police, warned people to be cautious about persons making claims of having supernatural powers and that they could do miracles. “Magicians are doing harm to people visiting them as they control their victims’ minds and make them follow their commands blindly. Visiting a magician and paying him a lot of money can never be an option to solve life’s problems. People coming across such fraudsters should directly contact the police,” Col Nuaimi said.
