Abu Dhabi Police confirm arrest of Filipino drug lord Kerwin Espinosa

Abu Dhabi - Espinosa is the Philippines' No. 2 most wanted person in connection with illegal drugs trade.

The Abu Dhabi Police on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of Filipino drug lord Kerwin Espinosa, in a Facebook post.

"Abu Dhabi Police arrested a Filipino drug lord Kerwin Espinosa enlisted on the Interpol list... Necessary procedures were taken to hand him over accordingly to Interpol," a translation of the Arabic post said.

Kerwin Espinosa, whose real name is Rolan Eslabon Espinosa, was arrested in Abu Dhabi on Sunday night.

Espinosa is the Philippines' No. 2 most wanted person in connection with illegal drugs trade.

Khaleej Times also managed to get its hands on the tourist visa used by Espinosa to enter UAE.

The long-term single-entry visa was issued on July 26, 2016 in Dubai in the name of Rolan Eslabon Espinosa (Kerwin's real name), and shows his profession as sales representative.

According to sources, Espinosa arrived in Abu Dhabi using an authentic Philippine passport on August 1 via Etihad Airways flight 833 from Hong Kong. He got a three-month visa issued on July 2016 from 7Wonders Tourism based in Dubai with a generic "sales representative" as his profession.
