5 youth sent to jail for drug abuse in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi - The men's urine and blood samples tested positive to narcotics.
The Criminal Court of First Instance - in Al Dhafra area of Abu Dhabi - handed down the sentences to the Arab men after they were found guilty of consuming drugs. Two of the men, including the first and second defendants in the case, were given two additional years in prison for facilitating the use of drugs.
Police caught the Arab men at the house of the main defendant in Al Dhafra area as they consumed tramadol and heroin.The men's urine and blood samples tested positive to narcotics.
The men confessed to their crime. They requested the court to be lenient as it was the first time they had been caught in drugs related cases.
The men will be deported after serving their jail sentences.
