Two Asian men stood trial at the Dubai Criminal Court for posing as cops and robbing a duo in Muhaisnah 4 area in Dubai. Two of their accomplices were also put in the dock for helping the accused escape.
The case dates back to February 2 this year.
The four accused saw the duo walking, and decided to rob them. Two of them approached the duo impersonating police, and started frisking them.
The investigation of public prosecution revealed that the two accused took out the duo's wallets and stole Dh2,000 from the first victim and Dh400 from the second, before escaping with the help of their two accomplices.
A witness from Dubai Police said that the operations room received a report about robbery in Muhaisnah area. After talking to the victims, and gathering all of the details, the police were able to nab the four.
The accused confessed to the crime during investigations by the police and the public prosecution, which referred the case to the criminal court of Dubai for further legal action.
