The CID official said the police received complaints from victims about thefts in various police stations. The police said the suspects — A.A.F. (34); H.A.K. (28); and K.L. — targeted electronic shops in the emirate. The suspects broke into the outlets and stole electronic devices and mobile phones.

The police, based on the information provided by the victims, formed a special CID team to find the suspects. During the course of intensified investigation, the police managed to identify the suspects who have criminal record and entered the country illegally. The police identified their location and raided their residence from where large quantities of the stolen items including mobile phones and electronics as well as tools used in committing their crimes were retrieved.

The three men confessed to their crimes when confronted by the police. They also provided information on the outlets they had targeted. The police urged the owner of commercial outlets to install cameras and link their premises with the operation room to prevent thefts.
