Ajman Police on Sunday arrested three African men who duped people saying that they can double their money using black magic.
Speaking to Colonel Saif Al Matroushi, Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Ajman Police said that they received a complaint from the owner of a used car showroom in Ajman.
The complainant, a Pakistani national told them that he had been scammed by two Africans, who sent him an email seeking to buy 30 heavy trucks from his shop.
The two suspects - A.J, 30 and R.A. from Cameron - told him that they will come to UAE to finalise the purchasing deal.
They requested him to send video of the trucks with details and promised to come with $3.1million.
The suspects convinced the showroom owner that they needed Dh350,000 to buy material to double the money.
The suspect R.A. told the owner to put the cash at the showroom safe and then he would take the key from the owner after all the deal is finalised.
Suspecting their motives, the car owner checked his safe and found papers covered with $100 bills. The police formed team and arrested the men who confessed their crime and referred to public prosecution.
