3 held for offering illegal phone calls

The Sharjah Police have arrested three Bangladeshis for allegedly offering cheap international phone calls illegally using special devices and techniques, breaching the telecommunication law in the UAE.

The police received a tipoff about the activities of the gang and formed a special team of Criminal Investigation Department officers to arrest the suspects red-handed. During the investigation, the police found out the location of the suspects and after confirming that they were involved in the illegal activity, the suspects were taken into custody.

The suspects were arrested from their residence in Sharjah Industrial Area from where they operated and offered people cheap phone calls. The suspects confessed to indulging in the illegal activity to make maximum profit in less time. The suspects are currently detained and will be referred to the public prosecution.
