3 held for drug use in Sharjah jail

Sharjah - A prisoner is accused of smuggling the drugs in to the Sharjah Jail and using and promoting the drugs in the prison

Three prisoners were charged by the Sharjah Sharia Court of First Instance for using drugs in side the Sharjah Jail. During the court hearing presided by judge Dr yaqoub Al Hamadi, the three pleaded not guilty .
The second suspect told the court that a cigarettes given to him ,by some one .
On November the Sharjah jail found that some prisoners including the three suspects - a Pakistani, A.A and two Emiratis A.S and A.M - were not behaving normally and they suspected them of using drugs.
The police subjected the accused to medical tests took their urine and blood samples. And traces of Morphine and hashish was found in the samples.
The police and public prosecutor charged the Pakistani prisoner with smuggling the drugs in to the Sharjah Jail and using and promoting the drugs in the prison by passing them on to other inmates. While the other two UAE national suspects were charged for consuming the drugs.
During the court hearing first lieutenant at the jail, testified that he received information about the prisoners and took the necessary action and other police officials said that they had conducted test on them .
The second accused, however told the court the a cigarette was given to him by a sergent who was accompanying the first lieutenant. amira@khaleejtimes.com
