Twenty-two workers with a government transport company in Ras Al Khaimah have appeared in court for embezzling school bus fuel cards.
The RAK public prosecutor told the court that the workers used the fuel filling e-cards illegally and bought 450 litres of diesel, which they later sold in the black market.
As per court records, the case dates back to the end of September this year when the government entity specialised in transporting school students in RAK lodged a complaint with the police against the defendants.
The case was referred to the RAK public prosecution, which charged them with embezzlement and referred the case to the criminal court.
The suspects have denied the charges. The court adjourned the case to October 23.
