Two women have been accused of bringing a young woman to the UAE and forcing her into prostitution. The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court heard that the African women lured the victim into coming to the UAE after telling her that they had secured a housemaid job for her with an Arab family.

However, after reaching here, the defendants took the woman to an apartment in the capital and kept her there. They later forced her to have sex with different men for cash.

Prosecutors said the police arrested the duo after the victim complained to them that she was being forced into prostitution. Police investigations revealed that the defendants forced their compatriot to have sex with various men against her will.

The victim told the police: "After I landed here, I was shocked when the women took me to their apartment and told me that I had to sleep with men to get money. They threatened to hurt me if I refused."

She said the defendants forced her to sleep with men they lured from the streets. Sometimes, the men took her to hotels, she said.

When she got a chance to flee from the defendants, she went to the police and reported them.

Prosecutors charged the defendants with human trafficking and engaging in prostitution.

They denied the charges when they appeared in court. They told the court that they had no idea how the woman came to the UAE.
