148 illegal residents nabbed in Fujairah

In a surprise inspection visit to crack down on illegal residents, the Fujairah Police have rounded up 148 persons for flouting residency laws.

Violators and Foreigners Follow-up section of Fujairah Police has conducted many organised crackdowns to track down and arrest illegal residents, after being tipped off about the presence of illegal residents in Dibba Fujairah.

Commander on-Chief of Fujairah Police Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, appreciated all efforts designed to deter the residency law violators.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant-Colonel Salem Mubarak Aamir, head of the Violators and Foreigners Follow-Up section, said the crackdowns were widely successful, and would continue to achieve their objectives of tracking down violators and illegal immigrants”.

The inspection drives would extensively continue in all districts and residential areas of the emirate, and the violators of the law will be referred to the authorities concerned for legal action, he added.
